Child Safety Standards

Walking Up is committed to the safety and protection of children. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on our platform.
1. Definitions
- Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE): Any content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children, including grooming, sexual extortion, trafficking, or any other form of sexual exploitation of minors.
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any visual depiction, including photos, videos, and computer-generated imagery, involving a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
- Minor/Child: Any person under the age of 18.
2. Prohibited Content and Behavior
Walking Up strictly prohibits:
- Sharing, distributing, requesting, or possessing CSAM in any form
- Grooming or attempting to groom minors for sexual purposes
- Sexual solicitation of minors
- Sextortion or blackmail involving minors
- Content that sexualizes minors in any form
- Any communication intended to facilitate the sexual exploitation of children
This policy applies to all content shared through Walking Up, including profile photos, messages, activity descriptions, and any other user-generated content. Violations result in immediate account termination.
3. How to Report Concerns
If you encounter any content or behavior on Walking Up that you believe involves child exploitation or abuse, report it immediately.
In-App Reporting
Tap the bug icon in the top bar (next to Settings) and submit a report via the General Feedback option. Select a reason related to your concern and provide details.
Email Reporting
Contact us directly with as much detail as possible, including usernames, description of the content or behavior, and approximate dates/times.

4. How We Respond
When we receive a report of potential CSAE:
- We review all child safety reports as a priority
- Content that violates these standards is removed immediately
- Accounts in violation are permanently terminated
- We preserve relevant data as required by law
- We report confirmed or suspected CSAM to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline, as required by U.S. law (18 U.S.C. Section 2258A)
5. Cooperation with Law Enforcement
Walking Up cooperates fully with law enforcement investigations related to child exploitation, including responding to valid legal process and emergency disclosures when there is imminent risk of harm to a child.
6. Platform Design
Walking Up is built with a friends-only architecture:
- Users can only connect with people they explicitly approve
- No public profiles or discoverability by strangers
- All connections require mutual consent via friend codes or QR scans
